Contract mowing is a natural extension to our core work: landscaping for large scale land developments.
Long Bay Subdivision
Todd Property is the driving force behind the new residential development at Long Bay on Auckland’s North Shore. At The Plant People, we consider this site as one of the jewels in our landscaping crown. Our team have completed landscaping installations for all bar one minor stage at Long Bay since its inception.
As each stage nears completion, our maintenance division moves in to ensure the grounds are looking their best. Presentation is fundamental to a property developer seeking engagement in a new development.
Our contract mowing services supports our client’s primary purpose: to sell sections. We have three trucks on the road with 7–10 people on the ground at any given time to ensure each section is looking its best.
Contract mowing may be a satellite service for The Plant People. Still, we approach each site with the same attention to detail, care and professionalism that is a hallmark of our core landscaping business.
We take pride in the finer points of contract mowing. We go the extra mile with such tasks as weed eating and detailing around structures and obstructions, right down to blowing grass clippings and other debris from paved surfaces.
For The Plant People, there is a significant labour cost attached to this attention to detail. However, maintaining a culture of excellence is central to everything we do. It’s what sets us apart from the many other contract mowing companies in the Auckland market.
Auckland Airport – public green space
One part of an extensive portfolio of maintenance activities for Auckland Airport, our contract mowing division maintains the land formerly occupied by the Aviation Country Club of New Zealand (aka Aviation Golf Course). The golf club closed in 2017 to make way for the development of new infrastructure needed as part of Auckland Airport’s “Airport of the Future” vision.
Nixon Road connects George Bolt Memorial Drive with Jimmy Ward Crescent opened in June this year. The new road dissects the former 18-hole golf course, leaving the remaining land in need of regular mowing to ensure the space does not become overgrown.
The Plant People have the machinery and human resources to keep on top the X hectare belt of land. Our task is to ensure the land is ready for whatever its long-term future may hold.
Contract Mowing: Sports Fields at Lynfield College
The Plant People are responsible for mowing the sports fields and immediate surrounds and one of Auckland’s largest secondary schools, Lynfield College. Contract mowing at this scale requires excellent communication skills from both parties. There is always something going on at Lynfield College, from sporting activities on the grounds themselves, to academic exams. We need to ensure that our mowing team keep disruption to an absolute minimum.
