For the last five years The Plant People have been involved in landscaping the exquisite gardens at the Lauriston Park Retirement Village.

Located in the heart of boutique country town Cambridge, Lauriston Park is more than just a care facility; the purpose designed independent living villas, flanked by impressive amenities and beautifully landscaped gardens, provide a peaceful home away from home for its residents.

Designed to give Lauriston Park a community feel and promote a sense of pride in the village, the award winning gardens have been meticulously landscaped and cared for by The Plant People.

Working with landscape architect Lee Brazier, The Plant People team were invaluable in helping select plants that would thrive in the ever-changing weather conditions that Cambridge is known for.

Planting aside, The Plant People team were assigned a number of key elements within the Village Green and the Homestead; the front stone entrance wall, the arbors and pergolas, retaining walls, footpaths and steps, as well as a Golf putting area were all built by The Plant People.

When designing and building the footpaths and steps, the team had to take into account mobility scooter usage within the village; clear access, a gentle gradient and slip resistant surfaces were essential.

To help visually impaired residents, colour and lighting played a big part in helping identify the edges of steps and paths, and The Plant People were responsible for ensuring these needs were met.

The Plant People are proud to have been associated with such a prestigious project and wish the staff and team at the Lauriston Park Retirement Village everything of the best.
