The Plant People are proud to support one of Maraetai’s best community assets; Maraetai Sailing Club. The club hosted this year’s Auckland Championship Sailing Regatta in February 2016. Our role was to provide logistical support in the form of personnel and vehicles, as well as supplying some prizes for the competitors.
Money raised from the regatta will be put towards a new RIB which will assist with keeping the club’s young sailors safe on the water. See below for a full transcript of the letter of acknowledgment from Maraetai Sailing Club:

Support for the Auckland Champs Sailing Regatta
On behalf of the Maraetai Sailing Club Committee and Members we would like to thank you very much for your generous support towards prizes and the vehicles to help with event operations. Without your support, the event would not have been possible.
It was a very successful event with over 220 entrants, boats and support crew and we have really made a name for ourselves with the overall organisation of the event. Funds raised from the event are going towards the purchase of a new support rib with centre console which we desperately need to keep the kids safe on the water.
Here’s some feedback we have received:
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the organising team for the Auckland Champs. The event was amazing and the organisation outstanding. This was my son’s first opportunity to sail in a green fleet regatta. He normally only gets to sail with 5 or 6 other boats at our local club. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and learnt a lot. He went from needing help to get around the course to being completely independent. Thanks for a great weekend. – Adam Cels.
